SADD is a high school-based, youth-centered, peer organization working to reduce alcohol and other drug problems, particularly drinking and driving by youth.

SADD activities with younger students encourage teens and parents to discuss alcohol, driving and other related issues.

SADD - Michigan, a state-wide organization, provides coordination, training and networking to support local chapter activities.

"The use of alcohol and other drugs is self-defeating."

Purpose and Beliefs

Demonstrated through our actions and words, SADD - Michigan's purpose is to reduce the number of alcohol related crashes.

We include all students who support this goal.  We also recognize the harmful effects of alcohol and other drug use among individuals and would like to see more people to decide to live free of alcohol and other drugs.

We encourage the expansion of our purpose to include those activities that contribute to the positive development of individuals and a caring spirit within the school and community.

We further believe that…

The use of alcohol and other drugs is self-defeating.

Driving under the influence of alcohol and other drugs endangers our lives and the lives of others.

We endanger our lives when we ride in a vehicle with a driver who is under the influence of alcohol and other drugs.

Our actions have a significant effect in creating positive change.
